The issue was a client-side exception-handling web vulnerability exploited through a vulnerable POST method vpn certificate request. The vulnerability has been patched and a update is available in the barracuda networks customer panel and website. The vulnerability was part of the official barracuda networks bug bounty program in 2013 to 2014 and has been published with coordinated disclosure.
